Well, first of, I think people need an actual incentive to get titles, but I'm not sure what, since we do not have a competitive team, and no one here is really the hardcore gamer type (I think, not entirely sure, ofc). I'm not saying no one is good at the game (a lot of people here have quite good builds), I'm saying that no one is willing to or able to dedicate lots and lots of time to gaming.
And once we have an incentive, it must be a lot harder to get titles. Currently, titles are given to anyone submitting a non-crappy bot.

My main problem is the incentive... I don't think that buying steam gift cards is appropriate (or actually an option, for me at least), and that's the only thing I can think of

Well, for me, i'll still do tricks for no treat, but I see what you mean. It is easy atm for title earning. I do hope things will get a bit more active this winter(That's when holidays give people time to do stuff ) My plans are odd for now. Either i'll be headin' back home in a month, or not til next summer. If til summer, den i'm buyin' a PC, cuz can't be without RC for too long X.X PS: My keyboard kept dying so this was a lot more effort to type than it looks Q^Q

That'll keep them busy for a day and a half... jk.... Also, 103 posts? You have 103 posts.... Dat is a load of posts... And for the stuff in the locked forums, well probably some projects with TOP SECRET on them such as contributing to more important forum stuff, and such.

I have to spend five hours in a car later today, maybe I can think of some cool projects and information for people. And 103? That's because I have no life :P

So I had a lot of time to think about it, and this is what I came up with:
Projects:
These would be projects that would be cool or useful. Only high ranking members would be able to participate (Engineer, Strategist and Designer and above, etc.) Lower ranked members would be able to see it just before we release the project to the public (They would be essentially Beta Testers)
I have a couple of ideas for projects, but I want to know what you guys think is needed/wanted
Competitions: Yes, they are semi-popular on the RC forums, so I figured I would bring them here
Each strand would get a different (but possibly similar) challenge
I am strongly considering handing out real prizes
These will not take place as often, most likely only be held during holidays, when the most people are able to participate

I do like that, kinda of a VIP type ordeal. As for competitions, are you saying it's participation is only available to those high rank members, or everyone? (Probably the info is given to top class before everyone, giving them the advantage of time ) I also do like the possible variety between the different groups. (We just need more in each group to hold the seperate events) As for Project ideas...I'm lost on suggestions, representation for clan in multi clan events would be a nice perk for top class. (Very heavly schedule based) Other from that, we'll have to wait to see what the other lovely members will say. PS: My activity may go up in the coming months (Deciding to stay, so gonna buy own pc) Can't make any promises doe~

I was thinking that competitions would be for all ranks above Member. Ideally it would also be rather easy to rank up from Member to any of the low ranks above Member, but ranking up after that would be rather difficult.
A side thought: To rank up to engineer, having X number of CRF bot rentals (on one robot) should be a requirement.

It is more luck than actual quality of bot that determines the number of rentals.

I do agree there is a lot of luck involved, but it is also partly reliant on quality. I'm hoping with the suggested update the CRF will be more heavily reliant on quality.
Maybe it can be a massive list of options; CRF robot with over 20 rentals and 5 star combat rating or A magic flying unicorn or ...

I hope the new update will do that too, but it is not true that it is pretty reliant on quality. I am biased, but my bot is pretty good, and has exactly 0 rentals. I also looked at Quazar1sumtin's bots on the CRF, and they are pretty nice, but also have either 0 or 1 rentals.

Yeah, hope a lot of people will get worth out of the future CRF, as for now, it is luck based. You could advertise, but aside from a video, doin' it in chat or on forums is kinda annoyin' for others. (Personally, would like to get my tank some love)

It is heavily lucked based, but I feel that the top builds have at least some quality (not necessarily much, but some) to them.
I'm not sure how they could really reduce the luck based CRF system.

So... Does anyone know if Steam gift cards are useable throughout all countries? Alternately, is it possible to transfer steam funds from one account to another?
